Reuse Saves Resources and Keeps Stuff Out of Landfill

Instead of buying the 'cheapest' thing Buy Durable long lasting goods that you will treasure for a long time and take good care of those things so they will last a long time and be Reused again and again.

When you tire of something give it to a friend or neighboor who will enjoy it, take care of it, and then pass it on.

Turn your old stuff into cash onby selling it on

Maintain and repair your stuff to keep it in good working order so you will get many years of use from it.


Donate reusable items to Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and other charitable outlets.


When purchasing items, check Goodwill, and similar outlets before purchasing new.


Hold a yard sale. If you don’t have enough stuff for your own, combine with other families.


Use reusable cloth gift bags and/or save reusable paper for wrapping gifts.


Use washable cups or travel mugs instead of disposables (e.g., most fast food restaurants will fill your reusable mug).

Use washable napkins.

Wash and reuse plastic food storage bags and plastic utensils.


Use washable cotton diapers. Check the yellow pages to see if there is a diaper service in your area. If you use velcro diaper wraps, reusable diapers are just as convenient and often cheaper than disposables

Use rechargable batteries. (this reduces the amount of lead and acid that is dumped in our landfills and saves you money)

Save Pretty Bits and pieces of stuff you find and make something useful or pretty out of it.

Think twice before you throw stuff away...ask yourself if it can be repaired or could be of use or value to someoneelse.

When you get items in the mail take the "peanuts" and other packaging materials to your neighboorhood shipping center where they can be reused.

Reusing stuff saves you money, saves resources for the future, and saves you from having spend time money and gas going out to buy replacement items. It is a good Idea...so REUSE it.
